Resumé and Interests
Irina joined Management and Organization Group in August, 2011 as an Assistant Professor in Management Consulting. Prior to the VU University Amsterdam, she studied and worked at the Lancaster University Management School, and the University of Manchester, in the UK.
Irina’s research interests lie on the crossroads of several disciplines, including knowledge management, organizational behavior and organizational development to name but a few. She is particularly interested in the collaborative knowledge generation and knowledge transfer processes. She approaches consulting from the process perspective and is keen on exploring the ramifications of organizational communication and human interaction as means of organizational learning and development. She is also fascinated with the ideas of pragmatism and action-oriented methodologies, with a particular interest in communities of practice and action learning sets.
Irina has a curiosity for the application of academic knowledge and academia-industry partnerships. She has spent 10 years in designing and administering change and capability development programs. Additionally Irina has provided training to professionals, and she has taught a variety of management topics.
