Four new assistant professors join our department
As of September 2013, four new assistant professors joined our department: Ezgi Akpinar, Femke van Horen, Arjen van Lin, and Peren Özturan.

Ezgi Akpinar holds a PhD in Marketing from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University. In 2012 she was a visiting scholar at Wharton, University of Pennsylvania. Her research interests include consumer behavior, advertising, word of mouth, viral marketing.
Femke van Horen holds a PhD in Consumer Behavior from Tilburg University. After her PhD, she was for 3.5 years Post Doctoral Researcher at the Social Cognition Lab of the University of Cologne, Germany. Her PhD thesis focused on the effectiveness of product imitation strategies (copycatting). Besides imitation strategies, she currently investigates the effect of uncertainty (e.g., due to the economic crisis, impactful innovations) on consumer decision-making and choice.
Arjen van Lin is currently finishing his PhD at Tilburg University which he will defend June 18, 2014. His research interest include Marketing models, Retailing and Entertainment goods.
Peren Özturan holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Koç University, Turkey. In her second year of the PhD program, she studied at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a scholarship from Koç University. Her research interests include marketing strategy in tough economic times and marketing’s influence within the firm.
