Transformative Consumer Research focuses on research related to consumer behavior and its role in well-being (for instance, pro-environmental consumption behaviors). The grant is award to a project that looks into the effects of gamification on sustainable behavior. The money will be used to set up a field experiment in order to generalize the findings from the lab to a more general setting (energy saving). The amount of the grant is modest, but receiving it indicates that the project is considered relevant and interesting.
For this research, we collaborate with our partner VODW. Through this collaboration, cooperation with large Dutch energy providers and food retailers is realized. These companies will help us with obtaining real life data about customers' sustainable behavior in order to provide ecological validity to our research.
