All applicants (Dutch applicants inclusive) to the PhD in Business and Organisation have to supply the results of a GMAT or GRE test. The GMAT or GRE test results should be sent directly to the School of Business and Economics. Information about GMAT and GRE can be found on their websites: www.mba.com and www.gre.com, respectively.
The School of Business and Economics will reimburse 50% of the costs of the GRE/GMAT test for students of SBE who apply for a PhD position at SBE.
Candidates may be exempted from taking the TOEFL/IELTS test in one of the following cases:
- You are a graduate from a Dutch university
- You are a citizen of a country in which the official language is English
- Within 5 years prior to this application, you have completed a degree in a country in which the official language is English
All other candidates have to provide the results of either a TOEFL or an IELTS test. Information about TOEFL and IELTS can be found on their websites: www.toefl.com, and www.ielts.org, respectively.
Please note that the complete process from applying for the test until the submitting of the score report may take a considerable period of time, so do not wait to take the test just before the deadline of the application. The applicant should pay all costs for the tests required. The costs of new tests (GRE/GMAT), paid by the applicant who is a (ex-)student of Vrije Universiteit, will be partially (50%) reimbursed by SBE.
