The assessment of research output and the allocation of research funding

The School of Business and Economics maintains a system of assessment of the research output of its members of staff that enables the distribution of research funding according to individual achievements. The system comprises the rating of the five best publications of a researcher over the five past years, based on journals- and publishers rankings, published on this web site.

The periodic allocation of research funding used to take place every five years. Starting 2005, however, the procedure was followed every three years, to allow more dynamics and to align with the national agenda for internal and external research assessments. As of 2008, the procedure follows every year.

In 2011 a new journals- and publishers ranking has been established. These will be used as of the assessment in 2011.

Information on the former allocation policy and output assessment (2008-2011) is written in this document.
