The Finance department at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is a solid and growing department within the School of Business and Economics (SBE). It is part of the VU School of Finance and Risk Management.
With 18 full-time faculty members conducting research in all major fields of finance, and 18 part-time faculty members, we are a research-oriented department with close connections to the financial industry and policy makers in the Netherlands.
In teaching, we cover a range of programmes, ranging from the finance courses in the Bachelor programmes in Economics and Business Administration, via our flagship programmes the MSc Finance, the MSc Quantitative Finance and the MSc Financial Management (formally a specialization in the MSc Business Administration), our executive teaching programmes in Asset Management, Treasury Management, Financial (Risk) Management, and Business Administration, to finally the more specialized research oriented master programmes of Tinbergen Institute (MPhil Finance) and of Duisenberg School of Finance.
Most of our graduates find their way in (junior) financial management positions or in staff functions in industry, government, international organizations and the financial industry: commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies, pension funds, asset management firms, real estate companies, investment funds, private equity and financial consultancies.
Please be invited to explore the research of our faculty and the teaching programmes in which we participate.
