Vasco Diogo is a PhD researcher at the Department of Spatial Economics of the VU University Amsterdam. His current research focuses in explaining land-use change processes and modelling future land use according to empirical and theory-based approaches, with a special focus in agricultural land uses.
He obtained his MSc. in Sustainable Development (Energy and Resources track) at the Utrecht University with a thesis on the availability of land and economic potential for biofuel production in Argentina. During his studies, he also worked at SPINlab as a student assistant, being involved in the calibration of land-use modelling tools for EC-JRC.
Geographic information systems, spatial analysis, land-use modelling, agricutural land use, spatially-explicit assessment on the economic performance of agricultural production systems.
