Drs. Jan L. Möhlmann (1985) obtained his MSc degree in economics at the VU University Amsterdam. In his final year of study he also worked as a student-assistant at the predecessor of RITM. After his graduation he performed research on the influence of the European internal market on the Dutch economy at the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB).
As of 2008 he is a PhD student at the Department of Spatial Economics of the VU University Amsterdam. His dissertation research is performed in cooperation with the CPB and the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). It focuses, amongst others, on the effects of various forms of globalization (e.g. trade, outsourcing and migration) on the productivity of firms and regions. The research is supervised by Dr. Henri de Groot, Prof. Dr. Piet Rietveld and Prof. Dr. Harry Gerretsen.
