Accounting and control is a wide field, offering a rich diversity in career options. Accounting professionals work in business enterprises, not-for-profit entities and in government. Some are external or internal auditors, others work as controllers or chief financial officers. Some specialize in IT audit and accounting information systems. Others are tax inspectors, financial analysts, or work for regulatory agencies. It is a dynamic field, and it is common for people to change roles during their careers.
So how will you find your way into and in this fascinating area? And what choices can you make during your bachelor programme to help you get there?
The SBE School of Accounting offers a strong educational portfolio consisting of the Accounting & Control (fulltime or parttime) MSc programme and a range of postgraduate professional programmes. No matter where you want to go in in accounting and control, there is a track for you. To help you discover whether accounting and control is where you want to go, and how the School of Accounting can assist you, visit the information session on Thursday 16 November. This event is targeted primarily at first and second-year students in SBE’s bachelor programmes, but more senior students are certainly welcome!
